We love books.
Fuzzy Foot Press started because one person had too many books. We're not joking. The shelves were sagging and at some point, Leslie looked at the chaos and thought, “You know what this needs? More books.”
So she became an author. Then she decided she wanted to use her marketing experience to help other authors get their stories into the world, which naturally led to starting a publishing company. As one does.
But not just any publishing company. Fuzzy Foot Press is a small, indie traditional publisher built around authors. There may be secret handshakes needed later. We work with writers at different stages of their careers and help them take the next big step toward becoming published authors.
At the heart of it all, we love books. We love the people who write them. And, despite the serious bookshelf situation, we have chosen to make this everyone’s problem.
Two Imprints. Same Team.
Each imprint has its own personality, and its own vision. But they're family.

What We Actually Believe
Publishing is a relationship, not a transaction. Here's what that means to us.
Authors at the Table
We believe publishing should feel like a partnership, not a mysterious castle where decisions are made behind a locked door by people named “The Team.” We stay in close contact, explain what we’re doing and why, and advocate hard for every book we take on. The author is not an afterthought. The author is the whole reason the book exists.
Not All Vanilla
We look for books that have the guts to do something interesting, strange structures, unexpected voices, stories that refuse to sit quietly in the correct little publishing box. Safe is fine for seatbelts and leftovers. Books should be allowed to make a mess, take a swing, and leave us feeling something we did not have scheduled.
The World Has Range
The world is not made of one voice, one background, one zip code, or one very confident guy explaining the weather. Stories should reflect that. We’re committed to publishing books from underrepresented communities and building a catalog that feels as varied, specific, surprising, and human as the readers who pick them up.
Books With Standards
We’re small on purpose, which means your book does not get tossed onto a conveyor belt and sprayed with “good enough.” Every manuscript gets real attention, covers are built for the reader its for, and every weird little detail gets examined with the intensity of someone measuring spine width at 11:47 p.m. because, yes, that matters. Books deserve care. Also margins. Margins deserve care too.
The Humans Behind the Books
We're a small team of readers, editors, and hopeless book nerds who decided to just start a press. Here's who we are.
Leslie Norris
Founder
Leslie reads just about everything and writes almost as much. Her work spans picture books, young adult, romance, and, most recently, a feature film screenplay—because apparently she wasn't busy enough. ADHD problems. When she’s not writing, she’s busy planning Foothills Book Fest, the book event she co-founded with Taylor. She’s married, has two pups, three cats, and a small backyard zoo that includes chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Basically, if it has feathers, fur, or words, Leslie is probably involved.
Taylor Crawford
Managing Editor
Taylor writes romance and urban fantasy. She too didn't have enough to do and decided writing a screenplay was a great idea. Taylor is also an editor who makes sure every book we touch is polished, professional, and ready to meet its readers without embarrassing itself in public. She’s also the co-founder of Foothills Book Fest and a firm believer that book covers sell books. Yes, we all say not to judge a book by its cover, but let’s be honest—we absolutely do. Taylor is passionate about making sure every book looks as good on the outside as it reads on the inside.
Sound Like Your Kind of Place?
If you've read this far and you're nodding, we'd love to hear from you. Whether you're a debut author with an awesome book draft or a seasoned writer looking for a press that actually gives a damn, our submissions are open and we read everything.
We're a new press, which means your book could be among the first wave. That's a pretty cool thing.
